Last week when the NYTimes reported on the BlogHer conference - as many many others have noted, they mentioned all the stereotypical “women” (read:caretaker) trappings with in the first few lines. AND it was ran in the Style section vs. the Business section or maybe even the front page.
Today, they’ve got another story classified as a “women’s” piece that has been relegated to the Style section. It’s about stalkers. That’s right.
I haven’t actually read it yet, the placement pissed me off enought to write this immediately. I may (or may not) edit this once I read it.
Editor’s Note: Ok the article is about a woman’s memoir of stalking, but shouldn’t that be in the Book section?
